I’m talking about trying to remake that fancy Patek Philippe Calatrava 5088/100P-001 watch. Yeah, that’s the one. The classic style that makes folks go weak in the knees. But, you know, those things cost an arm and a leg, and maybe a kidney too.
It all started when I stumbled upon some chatter online about this watch. They call it the Calatrava 5088/100P-001, a real mouthful, right? But man, that price tag! It’s outrageous. Then I heard some folks talking about remakes, and a light bulb went off in my head. I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
Diving In
First things first, I needed to do some serious digging. I spent hours online, looking at every picture I could find, reading reviews, and soaking up all the information out there about the original. Turns out, they only made ten of these things, and they’re made of platinum with a sapphire-crystal back. Fancy stuff, huh?
The Process
- Decided: I wanted that Patek Philippe Calatrava, especially the 5088/100P-001, and I was gonna get a remake. No way around it.

Finishing Touches
After a lot of trial and error, I finally got it working. It wasn’t easy, not by a long shot. There were times I wanted to throw in the towel, but I kept at it. And you know what? It was worth it.
Now, it’s not a real Patek Philippe, and it’s definitely not worth as much, but it’s a pretty darn good remake of the Calatrava 5088/100P-001. And the best part? I made it myself. It’s not perfect, but it’s mine. And that’s something, isn’t it?
