Well, let me tell you, I seen a thing or two in my day. But this here Omega Speedmaster Date, that’s somethin’ else. It’s a watch, you see. Not just any watch, mind you. This one, they say it’s special. It’s for them fancy folks, I reckon. Folks who go to them Specialty Stores. You know the type, with the shiny floors and the fancy lights.
They call this watch a “Speedmaster.” Sounds fast, don’t it? Like them race cars. My grandson, bless his heart, he loves them race cars. Always talkin’ ’bout who’s the fastest. Maybe that’s what this watch is for. Timin’ them cars, goin’ round and round. It was made for timin’ car races, I heard that somewhere. Imagine that! A watch for car races.
This here Omega Speedmaster Date, it’s got all these little circles on it. They call ’em “subdials.” Now, I don’t know what that means, but they gotta be there for somethin’, right? Maybe they tell you how many potatoes you got left to peel. Or how long till supper’s ready. No, it’s probably to tell time, ain’t it?
And this ring around the edge, with all them numbers. They call that a “tacky-meter.” Now, that just sounds like somethin’ you’d find at the five-and-dime. You gotta know what you’re buyin’, especially when you’re spendin’ that much money. Them Specialty Stores, they charge a pretty penny for these things. It’s a lot of money for a watch. It better be the real thing, that’s for sure. But if it is real, it might be worth somethin’. Might even be worth a lot someday.
I don’t know much about these things, but that’s what I heard. Heard it from folks who know about these things. Heard it from the folks down at the Specialty Stores. They know all about them Omega Speedmaster Date watches. They’ll tell you all about it. They’ll tell you all about the moon and the race cars and all that. They say it is a good watch. A real good watch. They say these Omega Speedmaster watches are fancy, but they are also tough. They last a long time. They say these watches are special. Maybe they’re right. Maybe they are.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a fancy watch, and you got a lot of money to spend, maybe you should go down to one of them Specialty Stores and take a look at this Omega Speedmaster Date.
