Okay, so today, I got this wild idea to try and remake a Patek Philippe watch. Yeah, you heard that right. I’m talking about the Gondolo 7041R-001, a real fancy ladies’ watch that you usually only find in those high-end specialty stores.

First off, I started by looking up everything I could about this watch. Where to buy remakes, what the deal is with this specific model, you know, the usual stuff. Found out that the real deal goes for something like $19,847. I even looked into other models, like the Nautilus 5711, just to see what’s out there in the remake world. Not that I’m considering switching gears.

This Gondolo 7041R-001, it’s got these really precise contours and a timeless style. That’s what caught my eye. I spent a good chunk of time just staring at pictures, trying to get a feel for the design.

  • Then, I started to look at the movement inside. Found out it’s got a Patek Philippe Caliber 215 PS, which apparently beats at 28,800 vph. Sounds fancy, huh? There’s also this small seconds sub-dial at the 6 o’clock position that I thought was a nice touch.

With all this info in my head, I began sketching. I drew and erased, drew and erased, it was like a cycle of life. Finally, I got something that looked halfway decent.

The actual making part? That’s way above my level, of course. But hey, it was a fun thought experiment. Maybe one day, when I get really good, I’ll revisit this.

This whole thing, it’s more about the journey than the destination, right? Just diving deep into something new, learning about all these intricate details, and pushing myself to imagine what’s possible. I enjoy this process.

In the end, I’m really satisfied with this experiment.

Who knows what I’ll try to remake next? Maybe another watch, maybe something totally different. The world’s full of cool stuff to explore. I just enjoy the process.
