Okay, so, I’ve been seeing this PRADA Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Mini-Bag everywhere lately. You know, the one from the official flagship store? Yeah, that’s the one. I couldn’t resist any longer, and you know what? I decided to remake it.

First, I studied the bag. I mean, I really looked at it. I checked out every detail, every stitch, the material, everything. Now, I seen a lot of bags in my time, but this one’s got some special kinda leather. They call it “Saffiano”. Sounds like some kinda Italian food, don’t it? But it ain’t for eatin’. It’s tough, like really tough. And it has this cool cross-hatch pattern thing going on. So, the first thing was to get my hands on that kind of leather, that took some time and tried many samples.

Then, I started sketching. I drew the bag from every angle. I noted down the dimensions, the shape, the details. It’s a mini-bag, but it’s got a lot going on. There’s the main compartment, the pockets, the handles, the strap, and that shiny PRADA logo. I drew and redrew until I got it right.

Next, I made a pattern. I used some thick paper and cut out the shapes I had drawn. This was like making a blueprint for the bag. I had to make sure every piece would fit together perfectly, this took time to get right.

After that, I chose my leather. I wanted to get as close as possible to the original Saffiano, so I spent days just feeling different leathers, comparing textures, checking the weight and flexibility. Finally, I found the one that felt just right.

  • Cut the leather according to the pattern.
  • Sewed the pieces together.
  • Added the lining, the pockets, the zipper.
  • Attached the handles and the strap.
  • Fixed the PRADA logo.

I took my time with each step. I double-checked everything, made adjustments where needed, and slowly but surely, the bag started to take shape and it is the time when I am really getting excited.

The Result

And voila! After hours of work, I had my very own handmade version of the PRADA Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Mini-Bag. It’s not perfect, of course. There are a few imperfections here and there. But I’m really proud of it. I learned so much during this process, and I had a lot of fun. Plus, now I have a pretty stylish bag to show off, it looks really good when I carry it.

This whole remake thing, it’s a lot of work. But it’s also really satisfying. You get to be creative, you learn new skills, and you end up with something unique that you made with your own hands. Would I do it again? Absolutely! In fact, I’m already thinking about my next project.
