This here watch, the Remake Patek Philippe PP Calatrava 6007G-011, it’s somethin’ else. Shiny and fancy, like them city folk wear. They say it’s a classic, whatever that means. Just looks like a regular watch to me, but what do I know? I just know it costs more than my whole house!
They call this one a “remake,” like they took an old one and made it new again. This 6007G-011, that’s what they call it. Bunch of numbers and letters, sounds like a secret code or somethin’. It’s s’posed to be a classic style, but I reckon it just looks like a watch. Got a big round face, got them hands that go round and round, tells ya the time, that’s all I see.
Now, this here Patek Philippe, that’s a name I hear folks talk about. They say these watches, they’re worth a whole heap of money. More than I ever seen in my whole life, that’s for sure. They say it’s a good investment. Investin’ in a watch? Back in my day, we invested in land, in cows, somethin’ you could use, somethin’ that made sense.
But these young folks, they like these fancy things. They say this Patek Philippe Calatrava, it’s a good one to buy. If you got the money, that is. Most folks I know, they ain’t got that kinda money. They work hard for every penny they get. I tell ya. They are sayin’ that PP is better than Rolex, cause they make less of em, and keep em rare, just like rare chickens, that lay golden eggs.
- This watch, it’s made of white gold. What’s white gold? Gold is gold, ain’t it?
- It’s got a big face, 40mm they say. Sounds big to me.
- They say it’s a modern somethin’ of a somethin’ classic. I don’t know what that means.
They say this watch, it’s got a special body. They call it “Calatrava.” Sounds like a fancy dance or somethin’. Supposed to be somethin’ special, somethin’ from a long time ago. They say this company, they been makin’ watches since, well, since before I was born! 1839, they say, that’s a long time. I tell you these Patek Philippe watches, you can sell them later for more money. That’s what they say, but who knows for sure.
I seen some numbers on it too, a serial number and a reference number. The reference number says what the watch is, you know, like it’s name or whatever. And the serial number, well, that’s like the watch’s fingerprint. Each one’s different, they say. No two are the same. But I still think it is not very useful for most folks.
Now, I seen prices for this watch, and my eyes nearly popped outta my head! Over $30,000! For a watch! You could buy a whole herd of cows for that kinda money! And they say that’s a good price! Free shippin’, they say. Well, for that kinda money, it better be free shippin’!
If you ask me, it’s just a watch. Tells the time, same as any other watch. But folks like these fancy things. They like to show off, I reckon. Me, I’m happy with my old watch. It might not be a Patek Philippe, might not be a Calatrava, might not be worth a fortune. But it tells the time, and that’s all I need.
I don’t understand all this fuss about these fancy watches. This Patek Philippe Calatrava 6007G-011, it is nice and all, shiny and new. I reckon it would be a good gift. But I tell you, there’s more important things in life than a fancy watch. Like family, and friends, and a good meal on the table. That’s what really matters, not some fancy watch that costs more than a house.
But what do I know, I just know these are expensive. If you got the money, and you like these fancy things, then maybe it’s worth it. But for me, I’ll stick to my old watch. It might not be a classic, but it’s mine. And that’s good enough for me. They have somethin’ called Nautilus, or somethin’ like that, thems even more rare. And more money too. Well, I reckon that is all I have to say about these fancy watches.
