Okay, so, I’ve been eyeing this Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Monoface for a while now. You know, the one that flips? Yeah, that’s the one. It’s a classic, and I finally decided to pull the trigger and get it.
First off, I did a bit of digging around online. I mean, who doesn’t these days? From what I saw, these JLC watches are pretty solid when it comes to holding their value. Apparently, they’re like, a “good investment” or whatever. I guess that’s good to know, but honestly, I just really liked the look of this one.
I went down to the boutique. I got to try it on, mess around with the flipping mechanism a bit. Man, it’s smooth. I guess it is a high-end watch after all. Apparently, “Reverso” means “I turn around” in Latin, which is pretty cool, I guess.
It is a manual watch. So after I got it, I made sure to wind it up. I mean it only makes sense.
They told me this particular model is kinda rare, something about it only being made for one year. Then they switched to some automatic version or whatever. Not sure how true that is, but hey, makes me feel a little special, right?
Anyway, I’ve been wearing it for a few weeks now, and I gotta say, I’m loving it. It’s definitely a conversation starter. People are always asking about the flipping thing. I saw somewhere that most people don’t know JLC well but it is considered high-end so that’s cool.
So yeah, that’s my little adventure buying the JLC Reverso. Was it worth it? For me, definitely. It’s a cool watch, it feels good on my wrist, and it’s just a nice piece to have.
