Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with watches lately, specifically trying to get my hands on a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Monoface. You know, the one that’s super classy and has that cool flipping face? Yeah, that one.
I started by doing a ton of research online. Forums, blogs, you name it. I wanted to know everything about this watch. I found out that some of these Reverso models, especially the older ones, can be a pretty good investment. They hold their value really well, which is awesome. There was this one model, the Geophysic, that was only made for a year and is super rare now. I read it is one of the rarest chronometer-grade watches of the 20th century, I guess only 1,000 pieces were ever made, crazy right?
So, I dug deeper into the specs of the specific model I wanted, the Reverso Tribute Monoface. I learned that it’s powered by this Jaeger-LeCoultre 846 calibre movement. Sounds fancy, right? And the size, oh boy, the size is just perfect. I saw the case is about 24.4mm wide and only 7.56mm thick. That’s pretty slim and sleek, just what I was looking for. It was powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre in-house manual wind 822 Calibre. I also read the new edition has a steel Duoface Tourbillon, which looks so cool.
After all that research, I decided to check out some stores. I wanted to see this beauty in person. This one store had a model with a stainless steel case and a brown leather strap, reference number JC310044. It looked so elegant. They said it would take 2-5 days to get it delivered. There was also another one, made with 18k Rosegold, which is a little bigger, 28.3mm wide, 9.6mm thick, and 47mm lug-to-lug with sapphire glass. Both are from 2024, seems like a new release.
Finally, I decided to pull the trigger and get one for myself. It wasn’t cheap, but I felt like it was worth it. Now, I’m just waiting for it to arrive. It’s a bit of a wait, but I’m super excited! I think this will be a great addition to my collection, and I can’t wait to show it off.
