Putting it all together was a whole other story. I swear, those watchmakers must have hands the size of a baby’s to work with those tiny parts. I fumbled, I dropped things, I cursed a lot. But slow and steady, I started to see my watch come to life. I did not have a microscope, so I put the small parts with the help of a magnifying glass. I really did this step by step.
Finally, It is done.
And you know what? It actually worked! It’s not a Patek Philippe, that’s for sure. But it’s my Patek Philippe, in a way. It tells the time, it looks pretty good on my wrist, and I made it with my own two hands. And that’s somethin’, ain’t it?
Now, I’m not saying it’s worth anything close to the real deal. But to me, it’s priceless. It’s a reminder that sometimes, even when somethin’ seems impossible, you can still make it happen if you put your mind to it. This watch, it’s not just a timepiece. It’s a symbol of my stubbornness, I guess. And a testament to the fact that sometimes, you just gotta say, “Heck, I’m gonna do it anyway.” And that’s exactly what I did.
